How to begin?

First steps:

1. Register your account. (Only 1 per user! Multiaccounting is impossible. Be advised that you shouldn't let your friends play with their accounts on your PC!)
2. Download the client.
3. Approve your account.
4. Join a game and have fun!

The most important rules:
- Multiaccounts are not allowed! The client's special software detects every multiaccount, so don't even try it. You have to approve your account first. If you encounter difficulties at this point, go here.
- Any usage of hacks is prohibited and autobanned with the client's software!
- Flaming, Ranting, attacking, whining, racism, sexism and all the other "obvious" stuff is obviously not allowed and will be penalized! You are obliged to read the Rules!


Most important commands for the hostbot:

!draw	You want to draw the game. 7 players needed. No stats recorded if a game is drawn.
!forfeit	You want to forfeit the game, your full team has to forfeit. Forfeits of a full team have to happen in a short timespan.
!pause	You pause the game for 30 seconds after a short countdown.

How to begin?

Welcome to DotAlicious Gaming! - the newest DotA community with imba new features!

Here are the first steps if you want to play DotA here:

• Download our DotAlicious Gaming Client: http://download.dotalicious-gaming.de/download.php
• Go to Normal Games -> Normal Games and look for a game that you like.
• Join the game! As soon as everyone ticked the "I am ready" checkbox, a "Start" button will appear. Click on it and you will be supported with a big green button. Matchmaking games start instantly if 10 players joined.
• Click the big green button! Your DotAlicious Gaming Client will open up and start Warcraft III for you. You don't have to exit wc3 every time you play a new game.
• Go to the LAN screen and join the game shown. (It may take a few seconds for the game to appear)
• Wait until everyone has joined! As soon as the last one joins, the game will automatically start.
• Enjoy your game!

Once you finished the game, you can see your stats on the same page where you started the game (parsing may take a short timespan) or on your "My Games" list.

Important/ most used commands:

!draw	Marks that you want to draw this game. If seven people enter the command, the game will be over and the stats discarded.
!forfeit	marks you as forfeiting. When everyone from one team used !ff, the game will end. Every forfeit only counts when all forfeits get entered in an exact timespan (10minutes). Aliases: !ff !gg
!pause	pauses the game for 30 seconds after a 10 second timeout. If another player enters "c" while the countdown is running, it will be extended for up to 5 seconds to a maximum of 20 seconds. abuse of this command can result in a ban! Take care that there is no major fight in any part of the map before using this command.

!resume	resumes the game. Can only be used by the player that paused the game with !pause
c	extends a !pause countdown. Can be used three times per !pause command. See !pause
!ping	show the ping of all players
!timeleft	shows the time remaining until the game closes.
!tl	alias for !timeleft
!wait	the game closes the lobby automatically after 3 minutes. If you want it to wait longer, !wait will increase the wait time for 3 minutes, up to 15 minutes max.

Our new anti maphack software is being started to get tested. We already found a few and after further investigation we already banned some people. The ban time at the moment is 92 days (3 month) as well as 500 penalty points.

Please also note our multiaccount prevention works very good so far and you won't be able to create a new account.

So if you plan on playing here for more than a few days, DO NOT HACK! It will be punished without exceptions and if you come back from your 3 month ban we will keep a very close eye on you and if you maphack again you will be banned for 2 years.

4.2 - What is considered a hack at DLG?

We consider following programs as "hacks" and rule disobeying:

• Any sort of maphack
• Any sort of viewing change hack (e.g. Camera Height changer)
• Any sort of interface change (e.g. Manabars)
• Any sort of "automatic/ bot playing" (e.g. automatically evading potm arrow's)
• Any sort of "plug-pulling" program, generally lagging a lot and often and at "perfect moments"

We reserve the right to change the rules at any time and under any condition! The rules are in effect for every game in the future and in the past!

Hacking will be automatically banned thanks to the client's software!



4.3 - What is the (automatic) penalty system?

- The AutoPPs System looks at your last 100 games or 2 months
- If you have no leave in those 100 games, you will get a warning, but no penalty, no negative xp, etc.
- If you have one leave in those games you will get a penalty of 20 points
- If you have more than one leave, let's say you have n leaves: then you get 20 + 5 * (n - 1) penalty points and a (2^n - 2) days ban, capped ad 30 days.
-> 2 leaves = 25 pps, 2 day ban
3 leaves = 30 pps, 6 day ban
4 leaves = 35 pps, 14 day ban
5 leaves = 40 pps, 30 day ban
6 leaves = 45 pps, 30 day ban
7 leaves = 50 pps, 30 day ban
and so on

This system will not look backwards, so if you left a lot in the recent games, you get lucky and won't be punished more. It only counts forward from today on.

There is no distinction between leave on purpose and disconnect. You can always fake a disconnect and it will make a game pause 3 minutes. Also that's why the first leave is free, since you could disconnect due to power failure, overheat, emergency or something else.
We will make no exceptions to this system, so don't leave and make sure your internet connection is working properly!

This also means: please do not report leaves anymore, except on purpose leaves < 8 mins.

There are default penalty points for most issues, but the moderator can adjust the amount to fit the severity of the users misbehavior.

A normal amount is 20 penalty points. These PP's will be subtracted from the users ELO score even if he reset's his account.
They will decay over time, with a half life of 2 weeks. (Meaning, after 2 weeks, you have half the penalty you had 14 days earlier)

The PP's will also be shown on the game table and a detailed list will be available on the users profile or if you hover over his nick on a game table.

If you get PP's you will get a PM informing you about who gave it to you, how many and for what reason. If you want to subject to PP's please write a PM to the moderator who gave them to you, and explain why you did not deserve them.

Please note that we will not undo PP's for leaving, independent of what reason you had for it.

The achievements now got cool new icons :) (Thx to Lufftre)
The buddy page shows you now who is in which game.
Added the achievement showcase.
Added a few minor changes to the game page.
Added most played heroes to daily ranking.
Ranking is now sortable.
Top Players now contains average.
Top Players now overlayed with a function to weigh averages over a big sample more than over small samples, using this formula (also partly  used when sorting daily rank):
sort_value = actual_value * (1 - 4 / (number_of_games + 4))
This functions starts at 0 for 0 games and converges to 1 for infinite games. It reached 95% after 76 games.
So if for example you have 20 kills per game, for 10 games, you will have a sort_value of 71.4% * 20kills which is 14.3.
If you have say 16 kills per game for 50 games, you will have a sort value of 14.8 and therefore be listed before the guy with 200 kills in 10 games.
A guys with 15 kills per game in 1000 games gets 14.9 and is still ahead of the 16kills / game guy.
For example a 30 kills / game, 1 game newbie would get only a sort value of 6

- reworked ringing on webpage: the bell now blinks indicating who ringed you
- you cannot ring people if you're not in the game
- you cannot ring people once the game started
- new client released (rev. 29)
- added quit warning in client so no more disconnections by client closure occur
- added functionality to prevent client from trying to reconnect at the end of a game
- changed sound framework to Qt Phonon (this should fix the crash bug on some windows systems)
- repaired a bug in the parser
- changed reset button to allow only 1 reset in 24 hours

- fixed a bug in game creation algorithm
- you can now only vote to kick someone every 20 seconds

May 17, 2010:
- The long expected chat has been implemented in its first version (will change in many aspects)
- new deployer software to report games back later if the server is overloaded
- fixed a bug in parsing where the chicken owner got the kill if his chicken was killed
