Hi. Yes, I'm kinda pissed off and I'll go on a bit of rant here.

Some opening words before I begin: Aussie, if you're in a good mood, don't read this. Because you'll probably get pissed off and I don't want to ruin your day by whining a bit at your treasure.

Begin of rant:

Ok, so I've been away from DotA in over a month, this due to me having to fix my "high school" grades. Today I finally made the last test and was able to come back to DLG. Something I've missed alot. But I can't say I liked what I saw.


I've played 8 games today and without actually overreacting they have been a fucking hell.
Since I started out with 1500 XP I of course got alot of bad players on my team, generally I don't mind this, I wasn't going in with the mentality to win every game (Since I'm not good enough for winning SL1 alone like some players. I can't go mid with morph and win an entire game alone.) but just to get through the 5 games and then quit to obtain my SL3 status tomorrow. Well. Fuck.

Not only are some players really bad, but I'm serious starting to question if they've ever played a MOBA before that game. I've experienced this in SL0 but SL1 is supposed to be "okey".

The problem is quite obvious, ALOT of players have moved over to DotA2 and the biggest portion of these players are those who actually cares alot about the game (Since it takes some research to search for an invite the standard russian dumbos doesn't do that.) This is not something that is DLG's fault, don't missunderstand me, but it calls for action from your side.

What will happen: When DotA2 goes live alot of players that are somewhat semi-good or better will switch over, leaving DLG a ghost town pretty much. It will take some months before people get tired of the matchmaking system (this have happend in both LoL and HoN so I consider myself knowing what I speak of.), and what "we" will have to survive on are the remaining DotA-players.

The thing is, with the current system of putting people in different skill leagues are not working for the player base DLG is currently having. Thus, we really need to get the new SL-system on the way. I know you have a shit ton to do, don't get me wrong, I owe you so much for putting your free time and your own money in this (even I is putting as much money in DLG as I can to support you with servers) and therefor I highly doubt you want to see this project die.

To the solution/problem again: the playing experience is horrible in more games than it is fun at the time, yes less than 10 games is a small judgement size but I've stayed in contact with several players at DLG who agree with me, and they've been playing nonstop since October or earlier than that.

Along with the much needed new SL-system we also need harder bans for people "semi-ruin" games.
I'll bring up to examples: A game today we played an AP-mode, the team picked pretty horrible and we ended up with way to many carries and no chicken, the thing was we were only 4 people who had picked and the last guy was still left, we begged him (I even said please, that doesn't happen twice.) to buy a chicken, instead he picked vengeful, bought some shit and headed bot, stating "I won't buy chicken to pub-tards" or something in that mather. I mean come on, WTF? He then proceeded to steal farm from a phoenix (who is much better with farm then a fucking vengeful spirit) getting a lothars and running around LOL:ing like txdv in a RU-rage thread.

The next game 2 guys picked naix and Legion, all though I was on the enemy team both headed jungle and after a couple of ganks from me the Legion dude (who died more than naix) bought 4 flying couriers, sent them to middle for our Medusa to freefarm on them, 600 free gold. Now this is ban able, and I will report him as soon as I can, but it's just an example of what the skillevel system today is giving us. Good players (I consider myself good and nothing less) is paired up with retards who ruin the experience, and now I've lost 200 XP and won't obtain my SL3 status (Luckily I'll go SL2, but fact stays).
And the thing is, I even started with 1500 so I had alot to "take from". I had another guy who said he started with 1130 trying to achieve SL2 (and he was absolutely deserving it) who dropped down to 950, I checked his games and it was pretty much the same there. Dumb fucking people ruin the game experience for other players who actually tries.


Thus, my final point is that we need to get rid of these players in the skillevel with most games, what else those it make DLG? A shitty plattform like garena playerwise. Garena had som top games too, but they were VERY rare and mostly inhouses. It's kinda the same here, those who have SL3 now is not affected, but new players / people deserving to be there can't because they get their games ruined by idiotic people who don't care that much.

And I know SL3 players don't want "too bad" players to come in there either, and theres another problem. Some players in SL3 feels the very same thing about me as I feel about the guys hanging around in 40% and for those we really really need the vouch-league back.

I'm a hater of DotA2, I hate the graphics, I hate the mechanics, I hate the way it's changed (manabars and other bullshit that ruins the DotA1 "raw" feeling.) and I won't switch to it, I will play DotA1 until it dies and then I'll consider my "DotA-career" being over, it's been a hell of a blast and I want to end it the prettiest way possible, thus I'm really trying to get "you" admins to fire up the new SL-system and bring some much neeeded change.

If you consider yourself "too few" and not enough time, maybe it's time to get more mediators or maybe one more admin like "you" Aussie and Emmeran? Running a place with 113681 members (in time of writing) with just 2 "bosses" is a hell of a job and I think you should get at least one more to get more time to prepare for the DotA2 (because even if I don't want it, it's the future.).

So my question is simple, what's the best way to pick up streams that streams DotA1 games, with english commentary?

Hi. Can you jump directly from SL1 to SL3, without being SL2?

I have too many penalties to obtain a SL2 status, but I'm pretty sure I will when the rankings gets calculated today be SL3 rank, will that give me a SL3 status? Since it doesn't say anything about penalty requierments.
